Steel case, length: 40 mm, width: 41 mm, thickness: 11.25 mm, octagonal steel crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel. Silvered flinqué dial, Roman numerals, blued-steel leaf-shaped second hand, blued-steel sword-shaped hour and minute hands. Sapphire crystal. Black semi-matt alligator skin strap, 18 mm steel double adjustable folding buckle. Calendar aperture at 3 o'clock, small seconds counter at 6 o'clock, sapphire case back. The Black Bay 58 is named after the first-ever TUDOR dive watch waterproof to 200m, the reference 7924, released in 1958. Known as the “Big Crown” among collectors, the design of the Black Bay 58 makes aesthetic references to this historic model. This year sees two new additions to the Black Bay 58 family: the Black Bay 58 18k with a solid gold bracelet and the Black Bay 58 GMT reminiscent of the mid-century jet-setting era. The Black Bay GMT is an extension of the Black Bay line with a highly functional complication: a multiple time-zone function – also known as a GMT function. Recognisable by its rotatable bezel, which derives its deep blue and burgundy colour theme from other models in the Black Bay line, but in a matte version, the Black Bay GMT is also a nod to the early days of this watchmaking function.
